From Richmond Times-Dispatch: A four-building industrial warehouse complex is being planned for South Laburnum Avenue in eastern Henrico County.
Becknell Industrial, the Indianapolis-based developer of warehouse distribution centers across the nation, is developing the four-building site totaling 805,190 square feet at 6101 S. Laburnum Ave. — on property across the street from the Mondelez International plant.
The 60.59-acre tract at Laburnum Avenue and Seven Hills Boulevard had been owned by Ukrop’s Super Markets Inc.
The five parcels sold for a total of $4.925 million, according to Clifford B. Porter, executive vice president at Porter Realty Co. Inc. who handled the marketing and sale of the Ukrop’s site.

Becknell Industrial Announces Acquisition of Airport Distribution Center

Chicago-based Becknell Industrial has completed the purchase of an 116,000 square foot multi-tenant distribution facility and 39.9 acres of land in the Airport Distribution Center located just outside of Richmond, Virginia in Henrico County’s East End. Cliff Porter handled the sale on behalf of the seller, Birmingham-based Graham & Company, who purchased the site in 2006. Hanover County Industrial Park Sells for $4.7MM

Hickory Hill Road Virginia LLC has purchased the 189-acre industrial site on Hickory Hill Road in Hanover County for $4.7 million. VCU Purchases Diamond Area Industrial Site for $7.25M

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) has purchased the 5.83-acre industrial site at 1609 Sherwood Avenue in the City of Richmond from Bourne Enterprises LC for $7.25 million. The site contains a 173,580-square-foot existing industrial facility, partially occupied by West End Printing, which will relocate to a new location in eastern Henrico County. Bob Porter handled the marketing and sale negotations on behalf of the seller.

TP Leadbetter LLC has acquired the 22,871-square-foot office/warehouse at 11046 Leadbetter Road in Hanover County from South Atlantic Properties Inc. for $2,000,000. The property was fully leased at the time of sale.

VDOT, the Virginia Department of Transportation, has purchased the 62,362 SF office/warehouse facility at 5325 Glen Alden Drive in Henrico County from Steves & Sons Inc. VDOT plans to consolidate three warehouses in Henrico, Chesterfield and Petersburg, and will use the new facility to store repair parts and equipment as well as records and publications.
Cliff Porter handled the marketing of the facility and sale negotiations on the seller’s behalf, and also represented Steves & Sons in the purchase of a larger Airport area facility.
