Byron joined Porter Realty in 2002 with eight years of previous technical sales experience.  As a firm vice president, Byron provides clients with extensive experience in land brokerage, investment analysis and sale/leaseback services as well as commercial and industrial sales and leasing.  Byron holds the industrial specialist designation from SIOR, the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, and also serves as president of the Virginia SIOR chapter.  He has been recognized as a top commercial broker by the Richmond Association of Realtors, and named a CoStar Power Broker.  He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, and is a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.  Byron graduated from Radford University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism.

As executive vice president, sales manager and one of the firm’s principal brokers, Cliff is the recipient of multiple awards for top commercial real estate production, including top producer awards from the Richmond Association of Realtors and the Commercial Investment Exchange, and was also recognized by CCIM Dominion Directions with an award for the Significant Transaction of the Year (2006). Cliff holds the dual designation of both office and industrial specialist with SIOR, the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, and has also served as president of the Virginia SIOR chapter and as a member of SIOR’s National Research & Publications Committee. Cliff holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, and is a member of St. James Episcopal Church. He has also served as a coach and board member of Richmond Little League. Cliff graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1980 with a B.S. in Business.

As the president and one of the firm’s principal broker, Bob offers clients more than forty years of experience with a focus on industrial sales and leasing. Bob graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1971 with a B.S. in Business, and joined Porter Realty after being stationed in Germany with the Adjutant General Corps of the U.S. Army. Bob received his Virginia real estate broker’s license in 1980, and served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves for twenty-one years, retiring in 1992. Bob holds the dual designation of office and industrial specialist from SIOR, the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, and has served as president of the Virginia SIOR chapter. Bob is also a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), and a past president of both CORFAC International and the Richmond Business Council. Bob also holds memberships in the Kiwanis Club of West Richmond, the West Richmond Businessman’s Association, the Richmond Real Estate Group, and River Road Baptist Church.

Byron Holmes Joins GRACRE Panel As Industrial Expert

Robert joined the firm in 2019 after nearly a decade of experience in the banking and financial services industries, first with Davenport & Company as an associate vice president in its public finance department and most recently as assistant vice president with Atlantic Union Bank in its corporate treasury department.  Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Rhodes College with a concentration in finance, having graduated in 2008, and also completed the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking and Wharton Leadership Program in Philadelphia.

Porter Realty Company Receives Standards of Excellence Award

Bulk Industrial Space Leased at White Oak Distribution Center

Premier Fixtures LLC has leased 161,445 SF of bulk industrial space in Henrico County’s East End, in Building 300 of Hewlett Packard’s complex in the White Oak Distribution Center. The White Oak space will be in addition to their existing 230,000 SF plant near the Richmond International Airport, also in Henrico County. Clifford B. Porter, CCIM, SIOR, handled the lease negotiations on behalf of the tenant.

New York-based Premier Fixtures specializes in retail store fixtures and displays, with services ranging from design to manufacturing and logistics.

Airport Distribution Center Space Leased to MeadWestvaco

MeadWestvaco Corporation has leased 47,858 SF at Airport Distribution Center (2500 Distribution Drive, Bldg C) in Richmond, VA’s East End.

Clifford B. Porter, CCIM, SIOR, of Porter Realty Company Inc. represented the landlord in negotiating the lease of 47,828 SF office/warehouse space in Henrico County.  The building is a total of ~115,000 SF high bay distribution space with 68,098 SF remaining.

The Airport Distribution Center was developed by Graham & Company of Birmingham, Alabama, with an additional 202,550 SF building planned for 2011.

Bunzl Relocates RVA Operation to Henrico’s Airport Distribution Center

Bunzl Distribution Midatlantic LLC has leased 114,009 square feet of space in the newly built Building B in Henrico County’s Airport Distribution Center.  Bunzl supplies a range of products to food processors, supermarkets, non-food retailers, convenience stores and other users, including food packaging, disposable supplies and cleaning and safety products, and will relocate its Richmond area operation to this facility.

Developed and built by Becknell Industrial, Building B features a total of 153,504 square feet, with 32′ clear ceilings, LED lighting, ESFR sprinkler system and 7″ unreinforced concrete slab.  Construction of Building B was completed in the third quarter of 2017, with 39,405 square feet of residual space available for lease.  Clifford B. Porter, CCIM, SIOR of Porter Realty Company, Inc. represented Becknell in the lease to Bunzl and is the exclusive agent for the park.

Becknell has also begun construction on Building D in the same park, which will include 202,560 square feet of distribution space.  The park is home to three other existing facilities, including Building C, which was completed in 2008 and purchased by Becknell along with the pad sites in 2014.  The park’s occupants include WestRock, Batesville Casket, Forward Air Solutions, and Graybar among others.  Building E was completed in 2016 and is fully leased to Premier Store Fixtures.

Becknell Industrial Announces Plans for Sauer Industrial Center

Becknell Industrial has announced the acquisition of an 83.37-acre parcel proximate to the Richmond Industrial Airport in the Sauer Industrial Center in eastern Henrico County (NEQ) with plans to construct two Class A facilities totaling more than 725,000 square feet.  Building 1 will total 446,692 square feet of cross-docked space, and Building 2 will be a 279,319-square-foot rear-loaded facility.  Both buildings are scheduled for delivery in May, 2022 and will feature modern attributes including ESFR sprinkler systems, LED lighting with motion sensors, and ample dock packages.  Click here for additional information.

Becknell Industrial specializes in the development and management of industrial properties nationwide, with holdings in 32 states, and offices in Chicago, Illinois and Indianapolis, Indiana.  Becknell’s Richmond area holdings include the four-building complex known as the Airport Logistics Center, with the two phases complete and construction on the third building underway with a total of 129,750 square feet, scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2022.  The fourth building is scheduled for delivery in late 2022 with a total of 187,500 square feet.  Including the existing buildings, a total of 805,190 square feet is planned in four buildings on the site.  Cliff Porter also represents Becknell in the marketing and leasing of the Airport Logistics Center buildings, and Porter Realty handles the property management.

Chesterfield Airpark Office/Warehouse Facility Sold

Misc Prop LLC purchased the 17,395 SF office/warehouse facility in Chesterfield County from LeSueur-Richmond Slate Corporation.  Byron Holmes handled the negotiations on the seller’s behalf.

Chesterfield Air Park Facility Leased to Quantum Silicones

QSI LLC dba Quantum Silicones has leased the 70,000 SF office/warehouse facility at 7820 Whitepine Road in Chesterfield County.  Byron Holmes handled the lease negotiations.
